The latest Costa Rica fishing news

Now for a bit of Costa Rica sportfishing news. Anglers who come to fish Costa Rica can catch billfish and most other offshore and inshore Pacific coast species 365 days a year, not only during peak periods. Captain Juan Carlos Fallas on the 43ft Spanish Fly out of Los Sueños Marina just returned from a one-day offshore charter. He had one Blue Marlin (photo, right) release, two releases, and two Yellowfin Tuna boated.

Out of the same marina on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific coast, Captain Esteban Marcos on the 36ft Good Day Too released five Sailfish. Costa Rica fishing captain MJ Alligood, 34ft Epic, caught seven Yellowfin Tuna casting poppers, and released a Sailfish. A couple of days earlier, MJ released a Cubera Snapper, a Roosterfish and a Jack fishing inshore. He also kept a bunch of Yellowfin also caught on the popper for dinner.

Captain Skeet Warren, on his 42ft Bushwacker, released a Blue Marlin and three Sailfish, and also boated this 35lb Dorado (Mahi-Mahi, photo right) for dinner.
