Traveling for Carrillo fishing, although seemingly complicated, simply isn’t. There is a particularly good Marlin bite out of Puerto Carrillo between January and March. For whatever reason, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin and Striped Marlin often skip the South and Central Pacific areas and congregate off the Pacific coast near this part of the Nicoya Peninsula.

Anglers on Costa Rica fishing charters out of Puerto Carrillo will find that the Sailfish bite will peak a couple of months later. The beginning of May usually signals the arrival of Yellowfin Tuna.
